Likely Story
Music Production
A producer is someone who can bring creative objectivity to a project and keep a band focused and on-track.

With this in mind, we strive to do whatever it takes to make your recording the very best it can be. From composition, arrangement, engineering, programming, and mixing, we ensure that the artistic vision translates into the recording.

From rock to r'n'b, we have numerous producers available to ensure the right producer is matched with your band.

The production process

Preproduction

This is where an arrangment, key, and tempo is decided upon and there can often be some rewriting of the lyrics and melody if needed.  A rough acoustic demo of the song is recorded and this is used as a guide for the musicians when tracking their parts.

Tracking / Programming

Once the song structure has been decided it is time to head into the studio and record the various elements for the song.  It is quite common to start with the rhythm section first (drums/bass) and then build up the rest of the song with a good foundation in place.  At this stage programming is also done which might be things like synthesizer sounds, additional rhythm elements etc.

Post production

When tracking, multiple takes are recorded which are then compiled into a final take afterwards.  Other performance enhancement tools can also be applied at this stage e.g. timing and pitch enhancement/correction.

Mixing

When the artist/band/producer is happy with all the parts that have been recorded then the song is mixed.  At this stage your song will sound like a record.

Mastering

The final stage of the record process where mixed tracks are make to sounds their best.
